There's birria, and there's BIRRIA. My boyfriend and I swung by for a quick dinner and ordered two birria tacos, two al pastor tacos, one birria empanada and one cup of consommé. The birria tacos and empanada were both unbelievably good. Prob my favorite consommé I've tried, too. Al pastor was serviceable but you can skip that. They have limited counter seating, so maybe don't bring 5 friends. Nenes is god tier. Will be dreaming about this.

The birria here is unmatched. I particularly like the birria quesadilla, but you really can't go wrong. Don't forget the consome. Expect to wait 45 mins+ for food at peak hours, but so worth it.

This place is a hole-in-the-wall joint and doubles as a bodega where you can grab snacks and other essentials. It's far from fancy, but it got loads of positive reviews and fair, affordable prices, so my expectations were high. While everyone raves about their birria tacos (some even claim they're better than Birria-Landia's, which is my go-to), I decided to test their non-birria tacos. * Empanada con Pollo ($2.75) The pollo empanadas were a bit dry but better than Itzel's Taqueria Deli (https://www.yelp.com/biz/itzels-taqueria-deli-queens). Still, nothing to write home about. * Al Pastor Taco ($4.5) This was the star of the show. The flavors were on point, and the extra pineapple and generous guacamole on top were a delight. However, the soft shell (they're single shelled) was quite brittle and soggy, leading to an unfortunate taco collapse. I guess even the best tacos have their off days. Pollo Taco ($4.5) Similar to Itzel's pollo tacos but with extra guac, which made the chicken less dry. Not groundbreaking, but solid nonetheless. Horchata - Large ($7.25) Our horchata addiction continues! This one was slightly powdery and a tad sweeter than Itzel's but still yummy. Not the worst horchata we've had (looking at you, Wham Bam Burrito). The menu boasts a whole birria section with unique options like birria ramen and birria pizza. The birria pizza is $28 in-person but $30 online. We didn't get it this time, but we're eyeing it for our next visit. Their burritos also look delicious -- definitely on our radar.

As authentic as you can get in New York. I ordered the birria empanada with four tacos -- all different. Empanada was incredible and made fresh. The tacos were outstanding and packed with flavor. Service was also amazing, just a very comfortable feeling being in there. Honestly, the type of spot you go out of your way to try and I don't say that lightly.

We traveled all the way from Connecticut to experience Nenes Barria Pizza and it did not disappoint. The seating is limited but we were able to find some seating to enjoy our Birria Pizza. It was DELICIOUS. We had a large group so everyone was able to experience it. I even order one to take home so I can enjoy it later this evening. The meat was flavored well and the dipping soup was very tasty. I'll definitely be back

I was first introduced to Nene's in Park Slope after a day of bar hopping in Gowanas. At the time, I was very much still a lactose-intolerant pescatarian and ordered the veggie tacos without much thought. I'd heard a lot about birria and thought it sounded like a delicious Mexican food (Texan here) but never thought much of it. My boyfriend and friends all got the birria tacos and holy hell... It looked and smelled SO GOOD. Cut to six months later when I was nibbling on meat here and there when my boyfriend and I would go out to dinner and share bites of our meals. For whatever reason, I had a massive craving for meat and *needed* to try birria. Nene's was the automatic choice and I promptly ordered delivery from their OG Bushwick location - getting the Birria platter, which included a taco, empanada, militia and consomé. Safe to say I devoured it all in one setting (it was probably two meals for me but when you haven't been eating meat in years, portion control wasn't gunna happen). I ended up ordering it again a couple months later, but just getting the birria taco platter (3 tacos with consomé), as the tacos were def my fave. Each time I ordered, it came with complimentary house made salsas, cilantro, lime wedges and radish. So unbelievably delicious. Pretty sure I ordered pickup of the same order just a couple weeks later. The addiction was real, the birria is so tender, flavorful, JUICY. The tortillas hold their own and don't fall apart, the lime adds the perfect zing, and the green salsa is just *chefs kiss*. So bring to our most recent order on Friday. We were in the neighborhood and hungry, so after hearing about their birria PIZZA, I managed to convince my man we needed to try it out. It's basically a medium-sized pizza in the form of a massive, 8-slice quesadilla for $26 (cash) or $30 card/online. Considering 3 tacos are 14.99, this seemed like a steal since each pizza wedge is clearly bigger than a taco. It was 3 layers of massive tortilla, cheese, birria, cilantro, and of course their famous consomé. They had a salsa bar for us to self-serve for our to-go order and we were able to grab extra limes, cilantro and radish as well. But wow. The pizza! THE PIZZA. It was so damn good. I mean yeah, it's clearly a quesadilla, but it was so good and more than plenty for 2 people. And not overly cheesy! They do not skimp on the meat. Definitely the type of thing to order if you have a few friends over, and it's more food than you'd typically get for a New York pizza at the same price. All in all, just try it. Or if you want food for 2-4 meals just for yourself, this is also a great deal for some damn good food.

SOME OF THE BEST TACOS IN NYC. Pretty small with limited seating, but Great service! You must go. That's it.

Ordered delivery from here Got the birria tacos with consume which was delicious! Tacos were not skimpy, good flavor and the consume was yummy! Very filling! Got the sopes with Al pastor. The sopes was okay. Kinda bland and the meat was so soft and not too flavorful. Good portion though! Got a carnitas quesadilla and it was delicious! So cheesy and good portion! Came with guac inside Got a Cali burrito with carne asada and it was just okay. Wish it was cheesier and I it was lacking flavor. But big portions! I'd def come back for the quesadilla and the birria tacos

Stopped by on a wintry cold evening to grab some birria ramen. I've been coming to this Bushwick location less often now because they have a second Park Slope location that is a bit closer to me. But, the charm of the original location is still here, from the throng of people waiting for their orders to the Mexican snacks they also sell at the counter. The birria ramen ($14.56) is made with Tapatio ramen and Nene's own consommé. It is a bit of a lava red greasebomb so I would advise against wearing white when eating this. But, it hits the spot when it's late and super cold outside. My favorite still remains the birria empanada.

Possibly the best birria I have ever eaten . The consommé was so flavorful, the piña hot sauce was delicious (the green sauce was my fave tho) The place is a no frills deli that sells mexican products from drinks to snack . The customer service was great, the gentleman that took my order took the time to explain the menu with a smile . Spent about 30 bucks for 2 people and enjoyed every penny spent .
